# Praxis Core Reading Practice Generator

Generate an original Praxis Core Reading passage and question set built for the exam's real pacing, with a full answer key.

Category: Test Prep

## Prompt template

```
You've got roughly 90 seconds per question on the Praxis Core Reading subtest once reading time for each passage is factored in, which means the exam is measuring reading speed and retention almost as much as comprehension itself. This prompt writes an original passage and question set, never copied from ETS's official Praxis exam, built around exactly that pacing pressure.
Set [PASSAGE_TOPIC] for the subject of the passage, [PASSAGE_LENGTH:select:Short (150-250 words),Medium (250-400 words),Long (400-600 words)] for how long it runs, and [QUESTION_COUNT:number:5-15] for how many questions to generate against it.
Build the questions against three categories that mirror how the subtest is actually structured. Comprehension and analysis questions ask about the main idea, a stated detail, or the meaning of a specific word or phrase in context. Craft, structure, and language use questions ask about how the passage is organized, why the author made a specific structural choice, or the tone and purpose behind a passage. Vocabulary acquisition and evaluation of argument questions ask about a word's meaning as used in the passage, or ask you to evaluate whether a claim in the passage is well supported. Tag each question with its category directly above the answer explanation.
Write the passage first on [PASSAGE_TOPIC] at the [PASSAGE_LENGTH] selected, then generate [QUESTION_COUNT] questions spread across all three categories rather than favoring whichever is quickest to write. Close the answer key by timing yourself against roughly 90 seconds per question including the initial read, and noting whether that pace held up or broke down on the longer passage lengths.
