# Praxis Core Writing Practice Generator

Generate original Praxis Core Writing practice covering grammar questions and both timed essays with a full scoring rubric.

Category: Test Prep

## Prompt template

```
The Praxis Core Writing subtest is really three separate skills wearing one exam label, grammar and usage accuracy, arguing a position under time pressure, and synthesizing two source documents into a clear explanatory essay, and most candidates only realize the second and third are entirely different tasks once they're staring at both prompts for the first time.
Set [PORTION:select:Selected-response grammar and usage questions,Argumentative essay prompt,Informative and explanatory essay (source-based) prompt,All three] to choose what to generate, [QUESTION_COUNT:number:10-40] for how many grammar questions if that portion is included, and optionally [ESSAY_TOPIC?] to steer the essay prompts toward a specific subject area rather than a random one.
For the selected-response portion, generate [QUESTION_COUNT] questions testing sentence structure, usage errors, and grammar and mechanics, the kind of item that asks which underlined portion of a sentence contains an error. Provide a full answer key with a one-sentence explanation of the specific rule each question tests.
For the argumentative essay, write an original prompt in the real format, a statement on a familiar social or educational issue that the writer agrees or disagrees with, drawing on personal experience or observation, not outside research. For the informative and explanatory essay, write two short original source passages, 150 to 250 words each, presenting different angles on one issue, then a prompt asking the writer to identify the most important concerns using both sources with proper citation.
After either essay prompt, provide a scoring rubric on the real 1 to 6 scale, describing what separates a top-scoring response from a mid-range one at each level, so a practice essay can be self-scored honestly instead of just written and set aside.
