Troubleshooting
Fix common issues in the Dock Editor. The editor not loading, sync problems, browser compatibility, recovering a draft, and how to report a bug.
Most of the time the editor just works, but when something is off, this guide covers the usual fixes. Work through the relevant section before reporting a bug, since many issues clear with a reload or a browser check.
If the editor does not load or shows a blank page:
- Reload the page. A failed initial load usually clears on a refresh.
- Check your connection. The editor needs to reach Dock’s servers to load your documents and to save.
- Try a supported browser. See System Requirements for the browsers Dock supports.
- Clear the tab and reopen. Close the editor tab and open a fresh one from the document sidebar.
If your changes do not seem to be saving, or a document looks out of date:
- Confirm the save indicator in the footer. The editor saves automatically; the footer shows when it has.
- Check your connection. Saving needs a live connection to Dock; a dropped network pauses sync until it is back.
- Avoid two tabs on the same document. Editing one document in two tabs at once can confuse which version is current. Work in one tab per document.
The editor targets modern browsers. If you see broken layout or features that do not respond, an outdated browser is a common cause. Update to a current version, or switch to one of the supported browsers in System Requirements.
If you lose work, version history is your first stop. Open Version History to find an earlier snapshot of the document and restore it. Because the editor saves as you write, the most recent saved state is usually intact even after a crash or an accidental close.
If a problem persists after these steps, report it through the contact page. Describe what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead, and include your browser and operating system so the issue can be reproduced.
