Keyboard Shortcuts

Open the Dock editor from anywhere with a keyboard shortcut, enhance selected text with a right-click, and customize the shortcut in your browser.

Dock has two fast paths that do not require hunting for a button: a keyboard shortcut that opens the editor, and a right-click action that enhances whatever text you have selected.

PlatformShortcut
MacCommand + Shift + E
Windows and LinuxCtrl + Shift + E

Press it on any page and the Dock modal editor opens on the current tab, loading any text you have already typed in the focused box. It is the quickest way to reach the editor without taking your hands off the keyboard.

Select any text on a page, right-click, and choose Enhance with Dock from the menu. Dock opens with your selection ready to improve, so you can sharpen a sentence or a paragraph without retyping it. The action appears in the right-click menu only when text is selected.

The keyboard shortcut is set by Chrome, not by Dock, so you change it in your browser:

  1. Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your address bar.
  2. Find Dock in the list.
  3. Click the shortcut field next to Open Dock and press the keys you want.

If another extension already uses Command + Shift + E or Ctrl + Shift + E, Chrome may leave Dock’s shortcut unset. Assign a free combination on the shortcuts page and it will work right away.
